1.00: K.L.Bank INTRODUCTION SECTION:
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
This IGM was created with several goals in mind, all of which
have been accomplished. It has these primary features:

  1. Unlike LORD, when a player kills the Red Dragon he/she
does NOT lose their Bank Gold afterwards in this program.

  2. This IGM lets you deposit Gems, which was never possible
in LORD itself. Of the few IGMs that feature Banks, most of
them are abandoned/dead programs whose authors can't be found
now. And some of those IGMs may not handle Gems Banking.

  3. Bank investments are protected against bank robbers and
embezzlers. You can't say that about LORD itself. There
is absolutely NO way for users in another IGM to steal from
your bank Gold and Gems accounts.

  4. Customers are able to transfer Gold and Gems to other
customers of the bank. The transfers are regulated to
prevent possible abuses of the IGMs, and those limits are
  chosen by the sysop/end-user.

  5. An IGM where you risk nothing is somewhat dull I think.
Therefore you have to risk an encounter with the Charm Tax
Man each time you visit. But once you've paid his Charm
Tax, he won't bother you again until the next LORD game day.

  6. Unlike LORD, which does a lousy job of protecting a
player's valuable stats such as Gold in Bank from going
Negative or Over-Range, this IGM has coding that prevents
  such disasters from occurring.

  7. Players can exit the IGM in two ways. The "normal" exit
sequence lets you choose to view your final LORD/IGM stats
info, and to choose to view the IGM Usage Reports. The
"fast" exit skips those two events altogether.

  8. This IGM lets players interact with Samantha, the daughter
of Peddler Jack. As the bank manager, she will flirt with
male customers. Female customers get to flirt with the bank
cashier, Gordon. The IGM Bank's "owner" is Kiteria.

  9. LORD pays 10% interest on player's Bank Gold investment,
and so does this igm. This igm also does 10% interest on
Bank Gems. Interest payments are NEVER allowed to cause a
player's Bank Gold or Bank Gems balances to go over limit,
  or to go negative.
  ----------------------------------------------------------

There is no interaction by user with Kiteria at any time.
None is planned either. Kiteria is Suzanne Franklin,
whom this IGM was created in honor of. She is famous in
the LORD "universe" as the creator of Kiteria's Korner.
Many players learn the ins and outs of LORD game play by
reading LORD play guides that she created back in the 1990's.

Gordon is based on my friend, Gordon Lewicky, who died in
Canada in July 2005. When I placed Gordon in this IGM, that
was done as a permanent memorial to a friend and BBS sysop.
  ----------------------------------------------------------

Initially, I had intended to have Samantha randomly appear
in my Gem Trader IGM and flirt with that IGM's users. But
I decided in 2004 to move Samantha's events into this program.

She interacts with players randomly in The Gem Trader v2.50
whenever someone buys a Fairy. But her full-time activity
is only found in this IGM.
------------------------------------------------------------

There will most likely never be a new LORD/32 version of
this IGM. I have had zero feedback in all the time I've
worked on the Free World II Lord/32 igm. If no one gives
a hoot about LORD/32 programs, then I see absolutely no
point in spending my valuable time making more of them.
Donald 01/17/2010.
==============================================================

08/04/07 note: When one finds a glitch in their program, they
owe to the people using the igm to identify what causes it, and
to kill that varmint. So, it was necessary to do another version
development cycle in August 2007. The igm was failing to compute
valid amounts for Gems Interest when its Save_Player_Data process
executed. The Gems Interest DID get computed for that player
afterwards correctly by the Used_Stuff process. But I felt it
was necessary to fix this gremlin. So that's why there is a
version 1.70 of Kiteria's Lord Bank in progress now. Donald.
==============================================================

Other IGM FEATURES:
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
    1) You can view your LORD stats from various locations
in the IGM, and during the normal IGM exit sequence.

    2) You can view your current Bank Balances without actually
       entering the Bank.

    3) You can deposit/withdraw Gold between LORD and the IGM.
Subject to the several limits regarding Gold.

    4) You can deposit/withdraw Gems between LORD and the IGM.
All Gems banking transactions are limited in two ways:
       (a) you can't have more than 2 Million Gems on account.
And (b) you can't ever have more than 32,000 Gems in
       your LORD Gems pouch/bag.

    5) The end-user/sysop can view a summary of IGM activity
off-line, outside of LORD IGM play, by reading the
       BANK-USE.TXT data file.

Everyone gets to view the on-screen IGM Usage Reports as
they are leaving the IGM to return to LORD. There are four
report screens which cover all Gold and Gems banking
activities. This event is not available if the player
uses the igm's Fast Exit option.

    6) The first player of the day will have a short wait during
IGM entry while the IGM processes the previous day's player
database, determines who has Gold or Gems on account, and
creates a new player database. If any players' records
were deleted using KLBEDIT, those deleted records are
dropped from the new day's Player Database File. Then the
IGM does normal maintenance that occurs on every visit.

    7) IGM usage is limited to 50 times per day maximum. If the
sysop sets the IGM up to use a value of 10, then the IGM
won't work beyond your tenth visit that game day. Warning:
Using the igm in such cases GUARANTEES that the Charm Tax
Man will pay you a visit.

    8) The IGM will automatically fix any Negative or Over-Range
LORD stats at IGM entry and at IGM Exit. The IGM will
notify user of any stats fixes that are made on-screen.

Due the way that DOS LORD v4.07 and 4.08 Beta will crash,
if it encounters over-range values, all of my IGMs make
sure that none of the numeric LORD stats have illegal
       values.

I follow the LORD stat boundaries established in the LORD
v3.55 player database format established by Seth Able
Robinson when he officially released LORD v3.55.

    9) Trying to deposit Gold or Gems, when you have none, now
produces a short message and terminates the deposit request.

   10) The KLB-BACK.DAT file is a backup of the igm's player
database file that is created during IGM entry, and
updated during IGM exit. Its used to recreate the IGM
database file if it is lost/deleted/corrupted during
IGM usage, thereby adding an extra layer of protection
       for users' bank investments records.

  Notes on the Flirt events:
  ------------------------------------------------------------
  * Users may Flirt with the NPCs once per day. If they change
their Sex between visits, they may flirt with both NPCs one
time each. I don't believe in same-sex interactions. Those
get punished by the player losing LORD stats.

  * The Gold Bank account, like LORD's Bank Gold account, features
10 percent Interest each day. But players only get the
interest on days when they actually use the IGM, just like
LORD itself works. No Gold Interest is paid once the account
reaches its maximum balance of 2 Billion Gold.

  * ADDED on Nov. 29, 2006. * Fully implemented Jan. 29, 2007:
The Gems Bank account features 10 percent Interest each day.
But players only get the interest on days when they actually
use the IGM, just like LORD itself works. No Gems Interest is
paid once the account reaches its maximum balance of 2 Million
Gems. 07/28/07: Changed Gems Interest rate from 5% to 10%.

  * Players can deposit Gold in their LORD Bank account from
their Gold in Hand LORD stat. They may withdraw Gold from
their LORD Bank account. No one is allowed to have more than
2 Billion Gold in Hand or Gold in Bank in their LORD stats; or
more 2 Billion Gold in their IGM Bank Gold account.

  * Players can deposit Gems in their IGM Bank account, and
withdraw Gems from it. The player can have up to 32,000 Gems
in their Gems Pouch while they are inside the IGM. But they
run the risk of losing all Gems in excess of 32,000 when they
return to LORD. No one is allowed to have more than 2 Million
Gems in their IGM Bank account.

  * Gems Deposits and Gems Withdrawals are subject to the IGM's
2 Million Gems Bank account limit. The LORD GEMS stat can actually
hold up to 32,767 Gems. But LORD works best if you use 32,000
as its limit, so that is how this IGM works.

The IGM allows up to 100,000 Gems to be deposited per day, and
up to 100,000 Gems to be withdrawn each day.
  ================================================================

  ** Gems/Gold Transfers Events: Enabled on 10-13-2005.
  -------------------------------------------------------
They are subject to the following limits:

  (1) Daily Transfers Limits: Players may only transfer a
maximum of 500 Million Gold per Day, and a maximum of 100,000
Gems per Day. These Transfer Amount Limits are coded internally
  in the IGM.

Players may make up to 50 Gold Transfers per Day, and up to
50 Gems Transfers per Day. Both limits are chosen by the sysop
  or end-user during IGM Configuration.

  (2) Transfer Session Limits: You may only transfer up to 25,000
Gems at a time, and you may only transfer a maximum of 100
Million Gold at a time. Note that these are "per transfer limits",
  and NOT "daily transfer limits".

  (3) Gold Transfers are NOT allowed if you do NOT have any Gold
in your IGM Bank Gold account. Gems Transfers are NOT allowed
if you do NOT have any Gems in your IGM Bank Gems account.

  (4) If you cheat during Gold/Gems Transfers, you lose 5% of
your Experience AND Charm Points for EACH violation. Cheating
is classified as asking to transfer an amount of Gold or Gems
which you do not have in your IGM Bank accounts.

  (5) To avoid possible conflicts with LORD itself, or with other
LORD IGMs, the IGM will not process Transfers to players who
are online in LORD, this IGM, or in another IGM.

  (6) Withdrawals Limits: At suggestion of Daryl Stout, I have
enabled two changes to Gold Withdrawal from IGM Gold Bank.

  (A) If you use 1 for amount to withdraw, IGM asks if you want
ALL of your Bank Gold or just ONE Gold Coin. Both events are
  fully tested, as of 10-14-05.

** Daily Gold Withdrawals, either from your LORD Gold in Bank account
or from the IGM Gold Bank account, are now limited to One Billion Gold
per day. There are no exceptions. Once you have withdrawn 1 Billion
Gold from either LORD Gold in Bank, or IGM Bank Gold, no more Gold
Withdrawals are allowed until the next game day. This is intended to
curb possible abuses of the IGM.

** Daily Gems Withdrawals are limited to 100,000 per day.
That also is to curb possible abuses of the IGM.
  -----------------------------------------------------------

The IGM does not recognize any changes made by other programs,
including LORD itself, that other players attempt to do
involving the current player while he/she is inside Kiteria's
  Lord Bank.

Example: Another IGM allows player JOHN DOE to steal 50,000 Gold Coins
from player JANE DOE, who is using K.L. Bank. JOHN DOE gets his Gold using
the IGM that he is in. But JANE DOE does NOT lose any Gold, since K.L. Bank
has NO knowledge of the other IGM's actions. Therefore, when it releases
JANE DOE back to LORD, and she learns of the theft by reading her LORD Mail
and/or the LORD Daily News, she will not have suffered any actual loss/damage.
  =====================================================================

Regarding the Gold/Gems Transfers, they are not anonymous. The recipient
is notified via LORD mail when Gold or Gems are transferred to their IGM
Gold/Gems accounts inside Kiteria's Lord Bank. They are told how much
Gold/Gems was sent to them, along with the LORD Name of the player who
  sent the transfers.

Additional IGM code has been added to protect LORD Gold in Hand and
LORD Gold in Bank from going negative, during an Gold Withdrawal from
the IGM Gold account, or during Gold Withdrawal from LORD Bank account.
This glitch was discovered in September 2005 by Daryl Stout in
K.L. Bank v1.30 and is now taken care of.
  ------------------------------------------------------------------------

08/04/07: Fixed IGM so that it will only ask players if they want to
view their Bank Transfers Stats when they have actually DONE some,
whenever they use the View Stats option, or are exiting the IGM.
  =========================================================================

** Flirting with Gordon and Samantha: Enabled 10/16/2005.
  ===============================================================

Limits: You can only flirt with each NPC once per day. To flirt
with both successfully, you have to change your Sex/Gender between
visits. If a male player tries to flirt with Gordon, or a female player
tries to flirt with Samantha, the player WILL be penalized.

Once you've flirted with an NPC, you can't flirt with him or her again
until the next LORD game day, and your next usage of this IGM on that day.

If your flirting is successful, you are granted some Charm Points. Sometimes,
you may get Wisdom Points as well. If you make either NPC angry by engaging
in naughty behavior, then you get punished. What is naughty? Same-sex
flirting is NAUGHTY, and it WILL be punished.

The Maximum Wisdom gain allowed per day is 10 Million points. The Maximum
Charm gain allowed per day is limited to 120 points for a male player, and
to 240 points for female players. By flirting with both NPCs, you can gain
up to 360 charm points per day, maximum. Rewards are based on your Game
Level. If your Charm level is not enough to impress the NPC, they just
ignore your clumsy attempts at flirtation.

If you are maxed out in both Charm Points and Experience Points, then there
will be NO rewards at all for Flirting - so don't waste time doing it.
  ----------------------------------------------------

07/18/05: When I wrote up the Flirtation events code, I named the
Cashier after my friend Gordon Lewicky, who died in British Columbia,
in Canada, in early July 2005. Like my SHOPEDIT utility for The
Pawn Shop IGM and the Doofus the Gnome LORD IGM, this is my way of
keeping his memory alive each time someone uses the new programs or
interacts with the cashier in this IGM.
  =====================================================================

  ==============================================================
** IGM Usage limits: Revised 10-14-2005. See prior notes for info
regarding Limits put into place on October 13-14, 2005.
  ------------------------------------------------------------------

  1) My IGMs all honor Seth Robinson's request that IGM authors honor
the boundaries he set up for each LORD stat. Those include not raising
Gold in Hand or Experience Points beyond Two Billion, for two examples.

As of 07/29/06, this IGM no longer allows users to have more than
32,000 Gems in hand, for ANY reason, to preclude that from causing
DOS LORD v4.07 from crashing (which it currently does in such
situations). Note: LORD v4.08 Beta will also crash whenever it
encounters over-range or negative LORD stats.

All of my currently in-development IGMs are set to automatically reduce
over-range Gems down to 32,000, since LORD does not do so automatically
when you return from an IGM. It does do that during first visit of the
  day processing.

The change in Gems handling was instituted on Jan. 25, 2005.

  2) IGM uses are limited to 50 visits per day. During IGM
configuration, the end-user/sysop may use a smaller Visits/Day
setting if they wish to do so. Use KITBANK INSTALL to do
this during IGM installation, or KITBANK CONFIG to just change
  the Max Visits/Day setting.

As of Jan. 24, 2005, the IGM uses/day limit has been increased
from 10 to 50 visits/day, in response to request by Daryl Stout.

*** Gems in Bank, as of July 18th, 2005, now may be up to 2 Million.
  =============================================================

Brief IGM usage summary. The Gem Trader, Peddler Jack, has
a very sexy, young and beautiful daughter. Her beauty rivals
that, nearly, of Lady Violet at the LORD Inn. She is the
banker. Your only relationship with her is banking activity,
unless you choose to Flirt with her. But she has high standards,
so you may not get anywhere with her. How high? Well she only
likes guys who are Charming enough for Violet to marry them.

You do NOT have any chance of getting Laid in this program by
either of the two IGM NPC's. What is an NPC? An "artificial
character" that exists only in the IGM you are using. In LORD,
NPC's include Violet, Seth the Bard, all of the Training Grounds
masters such as Turgon, and the bartenders at the LORD Inn and
the Dark Cloak Tavern in the Forest.

Gordon the Cashier is there for the Female players. The ladies
may Flirt with Gordon ONE time per day. And they must be Charming
enough to be able to marry Seth the Bard to get anywhere with Gordon.
  ==================================================================

Note: As of Feb. 14, 2005, users of the LADY version of The
Gem Trader, who need healing, get a special encounter with
Samantha as they are leaving her father's camp. Requires
usage of The Gem Trader script, version 1.30. Eventually
this IGM will allow further interaction with Samantha by
customers, perhaps including getting Laid by her.

If you use The Gem Trader LORD IGM, you also occasionally get
to interact with Samantha when she pays a visit to her father,
Peddler Jack. Interaction is at random following successful
  Gems for Fairy Trade event.
  ===============================================

No one is allowed to rob this bank. You may do Gold Deposits and
  Gold Withdrawals to the LORD Gold in Hand and Gold in Bank stats;
and to your IGM Gold Bank account. Since LORD does not have a
Gems in Bank stat, all Gems Deposits and Gems Withdrawals work only
between LORD Gems stat and the IGM's Gems Bank stat.

There are no limits on how many times a day you can do Gems Deposits,
Gems Withdrawals, Gold Deposits, and Gold Withdrawals used by the IGM.
However, you are subject to the Daily Limits on Gold Deposits, Gems
Deposits, Gold Withdrawals, and Gems Withdrawals, to prevent the IGM's
users from abusing the IGM. And you can't do Banking transactions
at all once you run out of allowed Visits each day.

Usage of Gold Transfers and Gems Transfers can only be done between
IGM users, and those are limited as to max Amount of transfers per
day, and max # of Transfers per day, using sysop configurable values
  in KITBANK2.DAT igm config file.

  --------------------------------------------------------------------
Unlike in LORD, if you kill the Red Dragon, you will not lose
anything that you have invested, as to Gold and Gems, in the IGM.
That is one primary reason why most IGMs created for the LORD
BBS door game, which has its own Bank, offers banking services
  of their own.

Now an IGM that offers ATM Service uses your LORD Bank account,
and your LORD Gold in Hand. As a result, with those, when you
kill the Red Dragon, THAT Gold does and will disappear.
  ------------------------------------------------------------------

The IGM will NOT allow a transaction that would cause either
of the LORD Gold stats to exceed Two Billion. Users are allowed,
assuming the sysop/end-user uses the maximum Visits/Day setting,
to use the IGM up to 50 times each day, as of Jan. 24, 2005.

A short summary of Bank accounts status is available at IGM
entry, from the IGM's main menu. It shows how much you have
on account as to Gold and Gems, and how much Interest, if any,
you received for the current day. Interest is paid ONLY on
days that you actually use the IGM, and is paid only ONCE a day.

All player's bank activity is shown at igm exit to the current
player, so everyone will know who has been using the IGM.

It is also recorded in the IGM Usage reports disk file, which can
only be viewed by the sysop/end-user. (See KITBANK REPORT.)
  ===================================================================

As of 12/19/2006, there are FOUR Usage Reports.
Some of them were redesigned in late February 2007.

The Usage Report #4's layout shown on-screen during IGM exit if player
chooses to view the Usage Reports was redesigned Mar. 15th, 2007, to
include an "Charm Tax Paid?" column.
  ===========================================================

  Save_Player_Data Summary Report:  {Added 02/05/05}
  --------------------------------
In normal IGM maintenance, someone will have used the IGM on a
previous day and left Gold and/or Gems on deposit. The IGM
reads each player record from the old database and creates
an updated database using player records that meet one of
the following conditions. It also computes and processes
the amount of Gold Interest the INCOMING, CURRENT player
is entitled to, if they have Gold on account.

  1) A new record is written if the current player is not in
the old database. 2) The player records for all players
that are in the old database with Gold and/or Gems on account
are written to the new player database file.

At the end of the database recreation process, the IGM will
show a short summary of how many player records were processed
from the old database, and how many records were written to
the new database file. Effective Feb. 05, 2005.

  3) 01/10/2007: Just to be sure the IGM does not process
Deleted Player records, KITBANK.EXE v1.50, and later versions,
makes sure that any player record with "X" in Real Name and/or
"* DELETED *" in Lord Name fields are NOT written to the new
database file. The IGM already properly handled the situation,
but the additional coding aids in preventing possible glitches.

  End of IGM Introduction section.
  ==============================================================

1.50: Special Notes Section
----------------------------
Special Privileges?: There are none. The IGM does not care if
you have a Horse, Fairy, or if you are Single or Married. It
also does not care if you are a Death Knight, Magician, or Thief.

The IGM does not act any differently if you are using LORD
in Clean Mode.

There are some IGMs that have special code that executes when you
are the "right" skill class, but this is not one of that type.

One example: The Love Shack II has additional adventures in the
Massage Parlor that only work if you are a Thief. Those were
in the original IGM by Trevor Herndon, which I have reproduced
as best as I could in 2004 and 2005 development of that IGM.

End of Special Notes section.
==============================================================

1.50:    Updating from KITBANK.EXE v1.60 to v1.70.   {08/04/2007}
==================================================================
1) Close your LORD game. Mandatory. Making changes to an IGM
when someone in LORD could be using it can cause MAJOR problems.
It could corrupt your LORD player database for one example.

2) You do NOT need to use CONVBANK again. No changes were made
to the IGM's player database structure in IGM v1.70. The
utility is updated and recompiled for use with v1.70.

3) Unzip files from the BANKWORK.ZIP or KLBANK17.ZIP archive,
using overwrite with new files mode, into your IGM directory.

The files inside CONVKB12.ZIP are also in KLBANK17.ZIP.

4) Manually edit the LORD 3rdparty.dat file to indicate that
the IGM is version 1.70. Update the LordMenu v1.40 data
files if you are using the utility.

5) You can resume normal usage of LORD, and of this igm, now.

** IGNORE section 2.00 completely if you are using KITBANK v1.60.
Skip down to Section 3.00. **
=================================================================

2.00: Updating to Version 1.70 Section: Rewrote 01/29/07
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

If you use version 1.00 or 1.20, both versions are very old,
and the simplest update process is to un-install them. Then
follow the instructions in Section 3.00 for installing v1.70.

Users of version 1.60 are to IGNORE this section. Follow my
instructions in Section 1.50 (above). Then go to Section 3.00.
  -----------------------------------------------------------

Users of version 1.30 need to do the following steps to
  update to version 1.70:

  a) Use version 1.30 in LORD to update its data files. Exit
the IGM. Exit LORD as well. That is mandatory. Using the
KLBANK15.ZIP archive, unzip its files into the K. L. Bank igm
directory. Read CONVKB10.TXT and follow its instructions.
Run CONVKB10.EXE to convert the records in the v1.30 player
database file (using KB13PLAY.DAT) to v1.50's format. Using
KLBEDIT v1.30, verify that the database records are all OK.
Then exit that program. Use instructions in step (B) below.

Users of version 1.50 updating to version 1.70 just need to
use the instructions in step (B). Step (a) does NOT apply
to you, unless you are updating from v1.30 to v1.70.

  b) Using the KLBANK17.ZIP archive, unzip all of its files
into the K. L. Bank igm directory. Read CONVBANK.TXT and
follow its instructions. Run CONVBANK.EXE to convert the
v1.50 database file records (using KB15PLAY.DAT) into
v1.60 AND v1.70's format. Using KLBEDIT v1.50, verify that
the player database records are OK, and exit the program.

  c) Revise version number info for the K. L. Bank IGM entry in
your 3RDPARTY.DAT file. If you use LordMenu, use v1.40
to update the data files. You can resume using LORD and
the IGM at this point. To get LordMenu v1.40, use this
  URL: http://www.filegate.net/camelot/lordfile/lrdmnu14.zip .

If you want more details, read the CONVBANK v1.20 docs file,
and the KLBEDIT.TXT v1.50 docs file. If you have questions,
send me an email and I'll answer them for you.

This concludes the IGM Update process. Nothing else is
needed to start using KITBANK.EXE v1.70 in your LORD game.

3.00: IGM Installation Instructions Section:
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

  * Use this section ONLY if you are re-installing the IGM,
or if you are doing a new installation.
  ----------------------------------------------------------

  * Obtain copy of BANKWORK.ZIP or KLBANK17.ZIP from me via
email, or download it from the Castle Camelot or Camelot
LordNews FDN sites. URLs are in the Distribution section.

When this IGM is in development, you are to always use
BANKWORK.ZIP unless specifically to do otherwise. References
in this file for BANKWORK.ZIP are also applicable to
KLBANK16.ZIP, which was distributed online on July 31th, 2007.

  -------------------------------------------------------------
References to BANKWORK.ZIP currently also apply to KLBANK17.ZIP
which will be distributed online on Sept. 18th, 2007.
  -------------------------------------------------------------

  1) Unzip BANKWORK.ZIP's files into an IGM sub-directory under
your LORD game. I suggest using KitBank for directory name.

Always use over-write mode so that you will get the most up-to-date
files from the distribution archive (or beta archive).

  2) At your DOS Prompt, type KITBANK INSTALL and press the ENTER
key. That will execute the IGM's installation module. Follow
the on-screen dialog box prompts and answer each one.

During installation process, you are asked in dialog boxes, to
  specify the following data fields.

  * Line 1 is LORD Path. Limited to 100 spaces in length.

  * Line 2 is IGM Path. Limited to 100 spaces in length.

  * Line 3 is Sysop Name. Limited to 50 spaces in length.
This is what you use as your Real Name in LORD.

  * Line 4 is Sysop Handle. Limited to 20 spaces in length.
This is what you use as your Character Name in LORD. It
must always be the Character Name you use as Sysop.

  * Line 5 is BBS (or Web-site) Name. Limited to 50 spaces in
length. None of these can use LORD color codes.

  * Line 6 is Max Visits per Day. Range is 1 to 50. IGM uses
max of 50 at Daryl Stout's request.

  * Line 7 is Max Gold Transfers per Day. 1-50 data range.

  * Line 8 is Max Gems Transfers per Day. 1-50 data range.

The IGM automatically upper-cases LORD Path and IGM Path values.
Both values always end in a backslash, which the IGM will add
automatically, if needed. It also automatically capitalizes
the Sysop Name, Sysop Handle, and BBS Name values during
  IGM CONFIG or INSTALL processes.

All of the numeric values must be integer.

This is a BBS door game, so it uses standard BBS terminology.

  -------------------------
You are asked whether you want to include version number data
in the IGM entry lines that will be written to LORD's 3RDPARTY.DAT
file - which is more fully explained in another section of this file.

The prompt asks you to choose YES or NO. Pressing the ENTER key
automatically is a YES response. You can use a computer mouse to
select YES or NO as well. The IGM itself, in LORD play, does not
interact in any way with a mouse.

  -------------------------
Once installation is completed, visually verify your 3RDPARTY.DAT
file just to be sure it is updated properly as well.

Then start playing the IGM when you start DOS LORD the next time.

End of IGM Installation Notes section.
  ==============================================================

3RDPARTY.DAT IGM entry Notes:
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Minus LORD color codes, which I don't always use myself, this is
what the IGM command lines in 3RDPARTY.DAT should look like.
Each person installs IGMs their own way, so your directory path
will usually be different:

C:\INTERNET\LORD\KITBANK\KITBANK.EXE /N* /GC:\INTERNET\LORD
Kiteria's LORD Bank v1.70 -- WITHOUT color codes

'`!Kiteria''s LORD Bank `0v1.70'; -- WITH default color codes.

(The actual description entry in 3RDPARTY.DAT will contain
LORD color codes. I used to not like using them at all for
awhile, then I got used to them. But I tend to change how
they look from time to time. The codes can be changed to
your own preference. That is, you can change them in 3RDPARTY.DAT.)

You can specify during IGM Installation whether the IGM Name
line includes the version data, or omits it.
===============================================================

4.00: IGM Usage Reports Section:
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

IGM Usage Reports: Providing that you have a BANKPLAY.DAT
file, which is created/updated with each IGM usage, you can
run KITBANK REPORT to create or update the BANK-USE.TXT usage
report disk file. There are FOUR usage reports as of 12/19/2006.

The first report shows each user's LORD Name, Gold Deposits,
Gold Withdrawals, IGM Gold Bank balance, and # of Visits made.

The second report shows player's Lord Name, Gold Interest, Gems
Deposits, and Gems Withdrawals, if any, that the listed players
received during the current day's IGM usages. It also lists
the LORD player number for each player who uses the igm each day.

The third report covers Wisdom Points, Charm Points, Gold Transfers/Day,
Total Gold Transfers/Day, Gems Transfers/Day, and Total Gems Transfers/Day.

12/19/06: Fourth Report shows player's LORD Name, Gems Interest, and
  Gold Interest values.

The Usage reports are automatically updated during IGM exit
process for every user, and are displayed on-screen for all
  users during IGM exit process.

5.00: IGM Un-Install Instructions Section:
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

If you intend to re-install the IGM afterwards, make backups
of all of the IGM data files before proceeding.

Run KITBANK REMOVE command. Follow the on-screen instructions.

IGM statements will be removed from 3RDPARTY.DAT file, and an
IGM Removal notice is written to LORD's lognow.txt file.

The Un-install process will ask you if you wish to delete
data files. If you confirm with a Yes response, then you
have to choose to delete each data file individually. I felt
this was the best way to do the un-install process.

The IGM does NOT allow the user to delete BANKPLAY.DAT or
KLB-BACK.DAT during IGM un-install process, in order to protect
them from accidental deletion. If you are SURE you don't
want to keep them, you can delete them manually when KITBANK
  REMOVE process ends.
  ============================================================

The KITBANK REMOVE command makes no changes to the 3RDALT.TXT
file, if it is in usage. It is an ANSI file, and can't be
accessed by KITBANK.EXE in any way that I know of.

  End of Un-Install section.

6.00: IGM Files, Requirements, Testing Section:
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
The following files are included within the KITERIA'S LORD BANK
archive:

FILE_ID.DIZ - Description file (KitBank.diz)

KitBank.DIZ - backup copy of archive identifier for BBS usage.
KitBank EXE - KITERIA'S LORD BANK IGM.
Setup modules are inside the program.
KitBank TXT - Kiteria's LORD Bank Documentation. (This file)

KLB-HIST.TXT - K.L.Bank IGM Development History file.
KLB-INFO.TXT - Extended version of Kitbank.diz with further
               details. Made so that kitbank.diz/file_id.diz
could be made shorter at Paul Romine's suggestion.

KLBEDIT.EXE - K.L. Bank Player Database Editor utility. v1.50
KLBEDIT.TXT - Separate docs file for KLBEDIT v1.50.
KLBEDIT.DIZ - Separate BBS DIZ file for KLBEDIT v1.50.

CCL-APPS.TXT - Info on all of my LORD Programming projects.
CCL-PROJ.TXT - Info on my upcoming LORD project plans in 2007.

CONVBANK.EXE - Player Database Conversion Utility, v1.20.
Use ONLY to convert v1.50 IGM database to current database format.
CONVBANK.TXT - Separate docs file for CONVBANK.EXE utility.
CONVBANK.DIZ - DIZ file for CONVBANK v1.20.
--------------------------------------------------------

Files created when KLBEDIT.EXE or KITBANK.EXE are used:
-------------------------------------------------------

* KLBEDIT.CFG - Config file for KLBEDIT. Not used by KITBANK.EXE.

* KITBANK2.DAT - IGM Configuration file. Used only by KITBANK.EXE.

* BANKTIME.DAT - Used to keep track of change in Day, Month or
Year, so IGM knows internally when to reset its data
files for a new day's game usage. (Binary file)
                Used only by KITBANK.EXE.

* BANKPLAY.DAT - IGM Player Database. Binary file. Tracks all
activity on daily basis of the IGM's users. Even if a
player has not used the igm that day, they will have a
database record if they have Gold/Gems on account.

                Used by KLBEDIT.EXE and KITBANK.EXE.
                Created by CONVBANK.EXE utility.

* KLB-BACK.DAT - Backup of IGM Player Database BANKPLAY.DAT file.
For use whenever IGM is running and BANKPLAY.DAT
can't be found, it is used to recreate the player
                 database file. ** Implemented Nov. 25, 2006.
                 Used only by KITBANK.EXE.

* BANK-USE.TXT - IGM Usage Reports disk file. Contains Four Usage
reports, as of version 1.51 Beta.

Shows activity by players for current day.
See IGM Usage Reports sections for details.

Program uses these LORD data files.
    PLAYER.DAT, 3RDPARTY.DAT, LOGNOW.TXT, MARBARD.DAT, and
    MARRAGE.DAT. MAIL*.DAT files. OUT.* files.

==================================================
Do NOT ever delete INFO files manually while either an IGM is
running, or while LORD itself is running. Similarly, do not
mess with any OUT files that apply to Kiteria's Lord Bank while
the IGM is running.

Changes made to a player's stats using KLBEDIT will not always be
recognized by the IGM, if the utility is used while someone is
inside the IGM in a LORD game session. So only use KLBEDIT while
you are NOT running the IGM.

IGM Usage Notes:
------------------
While using this IGM, you MAY not rename any of the program or
data files. Doing so can cause the program to crash or
otherwise not work properly.

KITBANK.EXE, KLBEDIT.EXE, CONVBANK.EXE, BANKPLAY.DAT, BANKTIME.DAT,
and KLB-BACK.DAT: These files may NOT be tampered with in any
way, or the programs will not work properly.

Do NOT EVER try to run any of the IGM's programs with them
write-protected, or using different file names, or with the
IGM config files - KITBANK2.DAT or KLBEDIT.CFG - write-protected.
That can and WILL cause the programs to not work properly, and
they will crash as a result.

KITBANK2.DAT: Under NO circumstance may you use LORD color
codes in this file. File can be edited manually if you
need to change something. It is best to make changes via
the KITBANK INSTALL or KITBANK CONFIG commands.

I reserve the right to not provide technical support to
anyone who admits to violating the IGM usage directions.

KLBEDIT.EXE is *NOT* usable with the unsupported LORD/32
version of Kiteria's LORD Bank v1.40 that was made for me
by Chris Martino. He failed to send me its source code before
he disappeared or died. Or source code for any other LORD/32
IGMs he had made for me in 2005.
=========================================================

REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Any version of DOS LORD that supports IGMs. Testing was done
with versions 3.55 through v4.08 Beta.

  2. DOS 6.x or later versions. Probably works with DOS v3.xx forward
as well, but I can't say for sure.

  3. IGM is usable whether LORD is registered or not.

Notes about how igm recognizes a player. It uses the LORD Real Name field
for this purpose. If for any reason, you change a player's LORD Real Name,
the IGM will NOT recognize that player as being a prior user. If a change
has occurred in player's LORD Name or Player Number between IGM uses, the
IGM updates its player database record with the correct values for those
two LORD stats during the IGM entry process.  {10/14/2005}
=========================================================

TESTING:
---------------------------------------------------------
KITERIA'S LORD BANK LORD IGM is currently tested using
DOS LORD v4.08 Beta. It has been tested with versions
of LORD going back to v3.55 by myself, and by various
friends who beta test my IGMs and LORD Utility programs.

Testing has been done using all versions of Microsoft Windows,
starting with Windows 95, and ending with Windows XP, using
current v4.0x versions of Legend of the Red Dragon.

All of my personal IGM testing since July 2004 has been
entirely done with Microsoft Windows XP.

SPECIAL THANKS TO:
-----------------------
Gordon Lewicky - He taught me most of what I know about LADY Script
programming, and has done diagnostic work on all of
my complex LADY Scripts when they had glitches. Gordon
died in early July 2005. He will be missed by many
         people who were his friends.

Gary Hartzell - For giving me feedback, support, and friendship.
And especially for encouraging me to become an LORD
IGMs author when I was considering it in May 2002.

Jason Brown - For entrusting me with his LORD IGMs and utilities
as their co-author, maintainer, and updater.
Also for several long years of LORD friendship.

Charlie Wardick - My primary programming teacher. For over a year
of training in how to write LADY scripts in a logical
manner, and then in relearning Pascal language and
usage of Turbo/Borland Pascal. And for letting me
         adopt his ChangeLing IGM.

Chris MacPherson, Kenneth Padgett - Chris, for turning over his
Pawn Shop IGM to me. Kenneth, for turning over
his Hiding In the Shadows igm to me.

Paul Mullins, Mike Ciesiensky, and Ken Davis - Mike, for letting
me adopt his Turgeon's House IGM; Ken for letting me
adopt his Village Hut IGM; and Paul for letting me
adopt his Realm of Lore igm.

And to all of my other friends who've gone through my evolution
as a LORD games programmer since February 2002, by testing my new
Lady scripts, and LORD IGM/utility beta compilations, over those
many months. Oh yeah, and most of all, for putting up with my
tendency to write occasionally LONG email messages to them <G>.

DEDICATIONS:
-----------------------
This IGM was specifically created for dedication to my old friend
Suzanne Franklin, whose Lord nickname is Kiteria. I thought it
was time that she had an IGM named after her.

Otherwise the IGM is dedicated to all of my close LORD friends.

The KLBEDIT.EXE utility is dedicated to Daryl Stout. It is
also dedicated in memory of Janice Stout, Daryl's wife, who
died in 2007.

Dedications are not used in the CONVBANK utility.

IGM Crashes: If you experience a crash while using the IGM,
please send me a capture log of your BBS session which most
comm programs and Telnet clients are able to generate. Please
send it in a .zip file archive, made using Winzip, PKzip or some
other ZIP-compatible utility. Send JPG snapshots of IGM crash
details, and/or the zipped up data files, to one of my email
addresses.

Primary addresses, checked daily: gtidmore@hiwaay.net,
ktidmore@hiwaay.net. Secondary address, checked daily:
My permanent address, used mostly for newsletters and non-Lord
interests, is donald.tidmore@usa.net.

Copies of your LORD games play*.dat files, lognow.txt/logold.txt
files, and the LORD error.log file may also be of use to me in
finding source of any IGM crashes. So consider zipping those up
also, and sending them to me.

Since I do not operate a BBS, I can not personally check on
BBS usage issues, but I have a few Lord friends who will do that
for me, such as Stephen Gibbs and Daryl Stout.

I hope that anyone using this IGM finds it to be of value to
you, and to your BBS users, if applicable. Donald.
