To all ye travelers of the Realm, who search to kill the
Red Dragon, this scroll will aid you on your quest. To
survive the perils of your duty, you must acquire
experience, gain strength, and build your defenses. In
these lands, you will discover everything you need to help
you become a great warrior. But, be warned, danger awaits
   thee with a malicious appetite.

These are the Realms of Lore and what you will find ...

  *      Cave                                              *

In the cave you will find treasures and trouble. Rotten
corpse of slain warriors scatter the rubble, some of which
are empowered by demonic souls. Strange creatures and
pitfalls test even the best of warriors.

There are stories of beasts that live within the cave, one
of which be Gernaldo the Gnome. Once a respected warrior
throughout the lands, he became sinister, through greed.
Always suspecting someone would steal his treasure, he left
the towns to hide in the caverns and protect his wealth. If
you should cross paths with him, be ready to fight a
gruesome battle. And if you should survive you may find his
  treasure.

People have always told stories of bats that comes in the
night, to the farmlands and raid the orchards. But they more
so fear the raids when they occur during the night of a full
moon. When their children are discovered missing the next
morn. Some folk swear they've seen an eight-foot bat snatch
young children and carry them off in the night, back to the
caves, never to see the children again.

One of the oldest of lore, is that of the Emerald Dragon. A
story of long ago. One forgotten by many but reality to
others. An old necromancer who had made his dwelling in the
cave, was constantly plagued with adventurers seeking jewels
and minerals from within. The skilled wizard, finally fed
up with intruders, conjured a dragon from the emeralds of
the cave to devour all who invade. Though, no one has
actually seen the dragon the caves have not been mined for
  decades.

  *      Forest                                            *

The forest is a mystical place. You never know what's behind
the next row of trees. But one can surely expect to find a
bit of pleasure and a giant pain. Beware of the zombie
wolves they'll rip your arm off!

Some people tell of tales, that every so often there returns
to a particular field, a group wild horses to graze on the
plush grass. While most believe this fable, not many have
claimed to have caught one but say it's a "kick" to try...

Merchants have claimed to have encountered a thief while
traveling their trade routes. One who attacks by bow and
arrow. With arrows sharp enough to run you through. He'll
appear and disappear as quick as a phantom, yet he be known
as the Green Archer. Aye, and a right good bounty be on his
  head!

Travelers and woodsmen, say there's a lumberjack that
doesn't take kindly to strangers. They say he's at least 20
feet tall. He carries an axe, with a blade that's 3 feet
wide, and can easily chop a man in half. But, if you can
get by his axe beware he'll stomp you into the ground. Or
even worse he'll pick ye up and throw you a mile away!

  *      Mountain                                          *

Many a men have tried to conquer the mountain. King of
mountain they try to be. But it's a dangerous place if you
don't watch your step. Beware of falling rocks and the
  local man eating' reptilian!

There's a myth of a large vulture that guards a golden egg.
Such a wild story, there be a local merchant who will pay
$1,000,000 gold coins for such an item! Many have searched,
but none have seen if such a treasure exists.

It's been told that the wizard who created the emerald
dragon had moved from his cave to dwell in the mountain
side. Of those whom find him, most are driven insane by his
enigmatic powers, but others gain insight to his wisdom.

A lore of men, who have journeyed to the top, tell of, a
beast of a man with one eye in the center of his head. A
giant of the Cycloplian race. Armed with a spiked club and
a few boulders to throw, he'll challenge any who dare to
best his title of king of the mountain!

  *      Dungeon                                           *

Tis be a dungeon, they say ruins of a fallen castle of
decades past. Be it true of it's existence, but what
remains of the lost empire is to be seen. Not one who has
entered has been seen again, barred forever in it's keep.
