Hidden Spring of Turgon v3.10: Rick Smorawski - rickms@email.com
RTE 200 Patch Update (v3.10). Alternate Email: rotg@nj.rr.com
------------------------------------------------
Original version 3.00 IGM has RTE 200, but was patchable. It
required manual installation, and requires user to have either
ANSI.SYS or ANSI.COM loaded in memory. v3.10 released in February
2002 for/by Rick Smorawski. It includes a batch file now to
simplify the IGM's installation for sysops/users. And this text file.
-------------------------------------

When you enter the IGM, you have several choices. Each can be
used for an undetermined number of times. Some are hazardous
in nature. The choices are as follows: 1) Eat fruit from tree.
2) Talk to the Old Man. 3) Drink from the Spring. 4) Throw a
Gem in the Spring. 5) Look for Treasure (gold). 6) Sit down
(on log) for a minute. 7) View Stats. and 8) Quit.

When you eat the fruit, one of two (known) results occurs.
You either are Energized, which gives you 100 temporary Hitpoints,
and 5 new Max Hitpoints; or you get real sick. This drops you to
1 usable Hitpoint, and also costs you 5 Max Hitpoints. You may eat
the fruit several times, taking your chances. It will not kill
the player.

Drinking from the Spring: Has three known results.
Result #1: If you had a horse, you lose it. Result #2: If you
are on foot, you are granted a horse. And Result #3: Your sex
is changed. Male to Female, or vice-versa.

Throwing Gem into Spring: Lets you rename yourself, your weapon,
or your Armour. Renaming a Stick, for example, to Death Sword
will NOT give you the latter's power.

Searching for treasure: Only 1 in 10,000 chance of finding
gold. The most you can receive is 1 million Gold.

Talk to old man: He's kind of unfriendly, so this option doesn't
do much for you. Attacking him is Not advisable. Trying to bribe
him to like you can result in your being renamed "The Village
Idiot" by him.

Sit down on log: When you sit down, you will see six jars of
liquid behind you, with six different colors. Repeated drinks
are allowed. Results are based on several days of IGM usage.
------------------------------------------------------------

Green drink: Win/Lose 2 Defense points.
Blue Drink: Win/Lose 2 charm points.
Purple Drink: Win/Lose some Experience points.
Yellow Drink: Win/Lose 5 Forest Fights.
Cyan Drink: Win/Lose 2 Strength points.
Red Drink: Win/Lose 2 Gems.

IGM does not have negative field checking built-in, so using
the Yellow drink or Red Drink may result in negative stats
in the Forest Fights and/or Gems categories.
