Created CSG_Note.txt file 01/24/2007.

CONFIG.EXE, and LMCHAP13.EXE both had RTE200 problems.
Both programs uncompressed using UNP v4.11.

IGM repairs done by Paul Romine. Sysop of Gargoyles Landing BBS.
---------------------------------------------------------------

My test notes on 2.40 Ghz Pentium IV system running Windows
XP Home SP2 operating system:

After patching, CONFIG.EXE accepts user's LORD Directory,
then the IGM directory. Then it terminates with an RTE 104
error message. Nothing is written to the 3RDPARTY.DAT file.

Nothing is shown in LMCHAP13.DOC as to which BBS door game
tool-kit was used, other than that the IGM used code routines
from Joseph Masters' Aragorn's Timer IGM.

No details are given in program docs to indicate what kind
of entry is needed in 3rdparty.dat.

IGM works for Paul Romine on his 1.0 Ghz system which is
running Win2K. But it remained unusable on my system on my
initial tests with IGM running in a sub-directory. With
this pair of lines in 3rdparty.dat, the IGM would not execute:

C:\INTERNET\LORD\CHAPEL\LMCHAP13 * C:\INTERNET\LORD\CHAPEL\
`!Chapel of St. George v1.3p

In my 2nd test, I tried running the IGM from the LORD directory,
and it ran fine from there, using this pair of command lines:

C:\INTERNET\LORD\LMCHAP13 * C:\INTERNET\LORD\
`!Chapel of St. George v1.3p

In my 3rd and last test, I tried running the IGM from its
subdirectory, but with only the LORD directory specified after
the * in the 3rdparty.dat command entry lines:

C:\INTERNET\LORD\CHAPEL\LMCHAP13 * C:\INTERNET\LORD\
`!Chapel of St. George v1.3p

This also worked. In summary, the ONLY way to run the IGM
is to specify the LORD directory ONLY in the command lines.
The IGM itself will then run from the sub-directory. However
for unknown reasons, the IGM's CONFIG.EXE program does NOT
work from an sub-directory of the LORD game.

CONFIG.EXE at 2.40 Ghz simply is not usable. It refuses to
run properly in any of these three situations, each time crashing
with an RTE 104 after it verifies LORD path and IGM Path:

1: CONFIG.EXE run from c:\internet\lord\chapel directory.
2. CONFIG.EXE run from c:\internet\lord\LMChap directory.
3. CONFIG.EXE run from c:\internet\lord directory.

In summary, I recommend that users of the igm simply install
it manually into 3rdparty.dat file. If the IGM uses an
IGM config file, there is no way to know what its file name
would be, or even what values it would contain.
--------------------------------------------------------

IGM usage notes: The IGM creates and uses three data files
in its subdirectory: CHAPTIME.DAT and CHPLAYER.DAT. The
third file that is created is TEMPLIST.DAT, and it appears
to be identical to CHPLAYER.DAT. It also places a copy of
the INFO.* file in its subdirectory that is not deleted after
the player leaves the IGM to return to LORD.
============================================================

This IGM has been reclassified as Usable following these
tests. It will be added to the next revision of my Usable
LORD IGMs Listing, which is a component of my Lord IGM Authors
Newsletter issues. The file is updated periodically as needed.

=============================================================
If this patched IGM works for anyone, then its been worth
the time taken by Paul and me to work on it. I do not claim
to be the program's author. I am making this RTE200-patched
version archive available for others usage on my web-site,
and other online sources that distribute LORD programs.

Added 02/22/2007:
As far as I know, it is not possible to reach the program's
original authors - Lisa Johannsson and Mans Jonasson - who
live/lived in Sweden. The email address listed for them in
the program docs no longer exists, and neither does the
web-site address that is listed there. Neither one appear
to be available via BBS-related echoes in Fidonet either.

Feb. 22, 2007 Notes by Donald Tidmore.

Note: I make NO claims to be this program's author. I am
simply making an RTE200 patched version available to others
that I know works properly, on behalf of the lost authors,
who like many other LORD program authors have disappeared
over the years. Attempts were made to find the authors
using search engines such as Google but none worked.

Revised for release of program to Fidonet. June 26th, 2007.
Donald Tidmore.
