v2.51+ Betas Change Notes:        {Added 04/13/2009}
--------------------------
1) OUTHOUSE.EXE is recompiled and is being tested. Don't use
   it on a BBS until you personally test the igm. That way, if
   there are any bugs, they won't mess up your BBS LORD player's
   LORD record files. That's always a possibility with igms
   that have been completely rewritten.

2) These are the NEW data files that Forest Outhouse uses now:

   OH2PLAY.DAT - Player database file;  OH2BACK.DAT - player
   database backup file (NEW);  OH2TIME.DAT - time usage file;
   OH2USAGE.TXT - Usage Reports file; FOREST2.DAT: igm config
   file (NEW); FODEBUG.TXT - Debug log file (NEW); FO2EDIT.EXE
   (NEW); OH-EXTRA.CFG - RHP Config file; FO2EDIT.CFG (NEW).

3) Forest Outhouse is now rewritten to allow up to 125 adoptions
   per day. Sysops can choose the actual number they want to use
   when they run FOSETUP.EXE's Config module.

4) The majority of the new code now in use by OUTHOUSE.EXE has
   previously been tested in LORD CAVERN's current beta. It just
   has to be retested to make sure it works in THIS igm now.

5) 04/17/09: Created & tested FO2EDIT.EXE utility. During its
   creation & testing, I updated the IGM's Player Database file
   structure.  Outhouse.exe, FOSETUP.EXE, and FO2EDIT.EXE
   should only be used if the compile date is after 04/24/2009.

6) The IGM's RHP Script files have to be rewritten. Some RHP
   code commands in the old scripts are no longer functional
   under this new version. I'll fix those files soon.

7) Revised player database structure 04/24/09: Renamed one
   variable used for Forest Fights, and added variable to track
   Kids Lost. As with LORD Cavern, at igm exit, every player
   has to risk loss of some kids in a random accident. The new
   stat will be used to track those kids who get killed.

I've been working on with Dennis Collins' help for close to two
years now. Please be patient while I get this igm working
normally again.

BTW, It also will be a little while before I have done a 100%
rewrite of this documentation file.

Donald. Apr. 13, 2009 notes. Edited Apr. 24th.

INTRODUCTION:
------------
    The original Outhouse IGM was a "once a day" LORD IGM, where
    the user finally got to do what we do every day -- use a
    bathroom. By visiting the Outhouse, you can either (lose 1
    Forest Fight and gain 2 Charm points) or (Get a 50/50 chance
    at either losing 1 Charm or Gaining 2 Charm points.

    The newer components of Forest Outhouse are revised versions
    of adventures from L.O.R.D. Cavern, used with Jason Brown's
    permission, reset into a Forest setting; and brand new events
    written by myself. The first new event is meeting a Sexy Genie.

    The user may spend time in the Forest looking around until
    their Forest Searches quota is used up, or they choose to
    leave. No one will be killed in the IGM, but they may leave
    severely wounded if very unlucky.

    Forest Searches settings: As of v2.10, the IGM allows you to
    use up to 127 daily searches, with a default setting of 75.
    Daily Searches are configured in the setup program's Extra
    Configuration Menu.

    No one will be killed using any version of this IGM, through
    v2.50, *UNLESS* it is done via an RHP Script. My own RHP
    scripts, do not use the @KILL@ RHP code. However the player
    CAN get severe Hit-points injury through normal usage of the
    IGM.

    In v2.20+, sysops may choose value in 1-10 range for adoptions
    allowed per visit. Once player has 100+ kids, no adoptions are
    allowed for them. Instead they are granted Experience Points
    if they chose to do an adoption. If you reject the orphan, you
    are penalized up to 200 Charm points for cruelty to children.

    (Apr. 2009 Edit:) v2.51+ betas will allow up to 125 adoptions
    per day now. The user/sysop chooses the Max Kids/Day limit
    during the IGM Config process. Once a player reaches the
    Adoptions Limit, the IGM won't allow them to adopt any more
    kids during the day. Exception: The RHP Scripts don't use
    limits, so if a RHP script that includes Adoptions is run
    frequently, the player can go over the Adoptions Limit.

    As of v2.20, players can View their Stats at the main IGM
    entry menu, and then they enter the Forest automatically.

       {Apr 2009 edit:] Internally the IGM uses its own dedicated
    Stats screen. If a RHP Script uses the STATS code, then
    the user sees a different Stats screen that's designed
    to work with all four RHP-based IGMs and with RHPTest. Both
    Stats screens cover Skill Points and Skill Use Points, Horse
    and Fairy status, and Marital status.

    LORD Stats screen handling. If @STATS@ RHP code is executed
    by an Outhouse RHP Script, the internal Stats screen style used
    by LORD Cavern, The Gateway, Outlands Tavern, and the RHP Toolkit,
    along with this IGM, is shown to the player.

    ======== IGM Event Uses Limits:
    The Lost Warrior event is limited to 5 uses per day, as of
    March 22, 2005. The Lost Child event is limited to 10 uses
    per day, as of Oct. 17, 2004. And the Sexy Genie event is
    limited to 5 uses/day, as of Oct. 18, 2004. Usage of the
    event limits was started on Oct. 17, 2004.

    Once Lost Child event has run 10 times each day, the player
    is sent to the Outhouse event. Once Lost Warrior has been
    used 5 times, the player gets the Ogre Fight event. And once
    Sexy Genie event has run 5 times each day, the player gets
    the Vampire Battle event. Player has 50/50 chance of winning
    fights with the Ogre or Vampire, but does not risk loss of life.

    Sexy Genie, Lost Child, and Lost Warrior events usage is tracked
    via player database values. The Ogre Fight event features 20%
    gain/loss in regular Hitpoints, and Vampire Battle event features
    a 10% gain/loss in Strength points.

    Players who fall into the Creek now have a 33% chance that they
    will only lose HALF of their Gold and Gems. The rest of the
    time, they will lose ALL Gold and Gems on hand, as usual.

    As of 11/26/2004, the Outhouse event runs as a random event,
    so it can pop up at any time during IGM usage. Players can
    still choose to specifically go to the Outhouse, as usual,
    from the Forest Path Search menu.

Update process from v2.50 to v2.61 Beta: (Rewrote 07/16/09)
=========================================
(1) Obtain OH2-WORK.ZIP and FORHP1.ZIP from me personally via
    email. Copies of the files online are not always up-to-date.
    You don't need FO2-EDIT.ZIP if you have the OH2-WORK.ZIP
    archive.

    I generally try to keep the Castle Camelot web-site fully
    up-to-date once a month at mininum. Sometimes I update
    it more often each month.

(2) Using v2.50's OH2SETUP.EXE program - with the LORD game
    *NOT* running or usable by BBS players - uninstall the
    v2.50 IGM from your LORD game.

    Delete the OH2SETUP.EXE, OUTHOUSE.DAT, and OUTHOUSE.CFG
    files which are no longer used by this igm. The uninstall
    process should get rid of the two data files for you.

    OUTHOUSE.DAT was replaced in v2.51's beta compilation by
    OH2PLAY.DAT.  And OUTHOUSE.CFG was replaced by FOREST2.DAT.
    All other data files used by the IGM retain their old file
    names.

(3) Unzip everything from OH2-WORK.ZIP into the Forest Outhouse
    IGM directory. Unzip everything from FORHP1.ZIP as well
    into that directory.

    Make VERY sure that you don't try to use RHP Scripts from
    version 2.50 since they will not work correctly in the
    new IGM due to changes in the RHP Library code unit.

(4) Using FOSETUP.EXE, reconfigure the IGM using the main
    Configuration Menu. Reconfigure RHP Scripts using the
    Extra Config Menu Menu. Then re-install the
    IGM back into your LORD game. Exit FOSETUP when you
    are finished.

    Full instructions for the IGM Configuration and Installation
    processes are listed in the INSTALLATION section of this
    OUTHOUSE.TXT docs file.

    Optional: View the 3RDPARTY.DAT file to make sure the
    IGM entry refers to v2.61 Beta. Then run LORDMENU to
    update its data files if you use my LORD Utility. It should
    be re-run EVERY time you change anything in 3RDPARTY.DAT.
    =============================================================

    No changes are necessary to LORD's MAINT.BAT by this igm
    since it NEVER changes or adds anything in that file.

    Since no one can sleep in Forest Outhouse, it should not
    have any OUT files in the LORD directory when you finish
    this IGM upgrade process. If there are any, you may want
    to delete them manually from the LORD directory.

    Make SURE that the command line string for running The
    Forest Outhouse that is in the 3RDPARTY.DAT file looks
    like this. The IGM will not WORK if it is not passed
    the LORD Path info that is stored in the data string:

       C:\BP7\OUTHOUSE\UNITS\OUTHOUSE.EXE * C:\INTERNET\LORD\

    The actual command line string will vary from user to user
    depending on (a) where they have the IGM installed and
    (b) where they have LORD installed. If you follow these
    instructions correctly, this should not be a problem.

    ============================================================
    Always remember that to upgrade from Forest Outhouse v2.50
    to v2.61 Beta, you have to do these steps correctly:

    (A) Follow the instructions for un-installing v2.50.

        Then follow the instructions for re-configuring the
        IGM and re-installing it back into the LORD game.

        FOSETUP.EXE will automatically delete the old OH2SETUP.EXE
        program file which the IGM no longer uses whenever it
        is executed, if that file exists. Whenever the IGM is
        used in LORD, it also will delete OH2SETUP.EXE if it
        notices the file is still in the IGM's directory.

        Please note that the IGM may crash if it tries to update
        or delete any files in the IGM directory if they are
        write-protected. Nothing in the directory should EVER
        be write-protected. If you want to keep/protect something
        long-term, put it in a separate subdirectory.

    (B) Make sure that you have unzipped all of the files that
        are in OH2-WORK.ZIP. Optionally, do the same thing
        with FO2-EDIT.ZIP. Always unzip the files from FORHP1.ZIP
        if you use RHP scripts from it.

        To date, no one has ever sent me any RHP scripts for
        Forest Outhouse.

    If you STILL have problems getting Forest Outhouse to work
    after you've followed these instructions, contact me by
    email or Fidonet mail (use the LORD echo), and I'll see
    what I can do to solve your problems.

    At this point, resume normal usage of the IGM in LORD.

    Please remember, you *NEVER* should update any IGM while
    LORD is running. If you are a BBS sysop, and you disabled
    access to LORD while you were doing this IGM Update process,
    its OK now to re-enable LORD access.

    End of section. Created on 07/16/2009.
============================================================

**** Note about FO2EDIT.EXE Usage:
----------------------------------
   Until you have used the IGM in LORD, you won't be able to
   use the FO2EDIT.EXE program. It has to have a FO2EDIT.CFG
   config file - which is created automatically for you when
   you first use the program. The config file is also created
   during the IGM Install process when you use FOSETUP.EXE.

   You also won't be able to use the View Usage Reports module
   in FOSETUP until you have created an OH2PLAY.DAT file.

   Use only Forest Outhouse IGM .EXE files that are dated on
   or after Apr. 24, 2009.
============================================================

Accessing the Usage Reports file:
===============================================
As of Apr. 13, 2009, you may now directly access/view the Usage
Reports file by using FOSETUP REPORT command from the DOS prompt.

That bypasses the normal main menu processing that is not needed
if you are just wishing to update and view the usage reports.

One requirement: You have to have a player database file in
order to view/create/update the IGM Usage Reports file.

As of 04/24/2009, the IGM now uses three usage reports. Reports
#1 and #2 were revised to allow for usage of commas in stats that
exceed 999. The Visits Today stat was moved to report #2. Report
#3 covers Forest Searches Left, Sexy Genie Events counter, Lost
Orphan Events counter, Lost Warrior Events counter, Skill Points,
and Kids Lost.

All three reports are contained inside the OH2USAGE.TXT file,
which is displayed on-screen when you use the FOSETUP REPORT
command. Or when the View Usage Reports option is selected
from FOSETUP.EXE's main menu.

The on-screen usage reports shown by OUTHOUSE.EXE will only
cover two reports until its rewritten to cover three reports.

End of Apr. 24 edits.
==============================================================

Nov. 2009 RHP Scripts notes:

All RHP scripts intended for use with The Forest Outhouse need
to use @VERSION@ 2.70 in order for them to work correctly.
==============================================================

RHP Scripts Info: All now require v2.51+ betas of the IGM in
    order for them to be executed correctly. This is due to
    changes in the way the RHP Library Unit handles math
    formula computations used to process RHP Codes that change
    the value of a LORD or IGM stat.

    1) Pile of Gems - Released with Version 2.10. It grants user a
       small pile of Gold and Gems, based on their game Level. (v2.01+)

    Released with Version 2.20, in the Forest Outhouse RHP Pack:
    ------------------------------------------------------------
    2) Sharpen Weapon. It grants 5 Strength points * Level. (v2.11+)

    3) Polish Armour. It grants 3 Defense points * Level. (v2.14+)

    4) 06/25/03: IGM now supports usage of these new RHP Codes:
       ARMORNUM, ARMOURNUM, WEAPONNUM, and SCRIPTVERSION.
       Use of GEMS code for display of RHP code's value in dialogue.

    5) 07/02/03: These RHP codes are now usable in math formulas:
       MALE, FEMALE, HORSE, FAIRY, FLIRTED, BARDSONG, WEIRDEVENT,
       SETHVIOLET, SEENMASTER, SEENDRAGON, and SPIRITS. (v2.15+)
       -- Requires usage of @VERSION@ 2.15 in scripts.

    6) The Burlap Bag - Illustrates usage of RHP codes in math formulas.
       -- Uses BARDSONG, WEIRDEVENT, SEENMASTER, FOREST, FEMALE.
       Rewards are small for each event, if player qualifies for
       them.  Created 07/01/03.

    7) The Magic GemStone - Lets player get some Gems.  {v2.15+}

    8) The Goblin - Illustrates usage of RHP codes in math formulas,
       covering the SEENDRAGON, FAIRY, and SETHVIOLET codes.
       Created on 02/20/05 from last half of Burlap Bag script.
    =================================================================

    What are RHP IGM Script events: Jason Brown designed a library
    code file that processes a set of commands that correspond mostly
    to what is in the LORD Lady script language that Michael Preslar
    introduced in LORD v4.02 and later versions. Basically, the IGM
    runs an .RHP file and processes text dialogue on-screen and
    displays the results of actions the user takes in response.

    Each RHP event occurs at random while you are searching through
    the Forest. One can either search randomly for adventure, or go
    straight to the Outhouse. Or you can run home to Town. You are
    able to view your current LORD stats at any time during IGM usage.
    ===============================================================

                                REQUIREMENTS:
                                ------------
    1) IGM has only been tested using LORD v3.55 forward, so you
       will need LORD 3.55, 4.00, 4.00a - by Seth Robinson; or
       LORD v4.02, 4.05pb, 4.06, 4.07, or v4.08 beta - by Michael Preslar.
       IGM may work with older versions of Seth's LORD game as well.

    2) This is a DOS program, as is Legend of the Red Dragon.
       So you have to be able to run MS-DOS applications.

       This IGM is NOT usable with Lord/32 beta. Due to an absolute
       lack of interest in LORD/32 igms, I no longer intend to ever
       make a 32-bit LORD/32 version of this IGM.

    3) You must have L.O.R.D. installed, either setup locally on
       your computer, or setup as a BBS door. I suggest but don't
       require that you use Outhouse for a directory name.

       This version is compiled using Borland Pascal v7.01 on a 2.4
       Ghz Intel Pentium IV system, running Microsoft Windows XP,
       Service Pack 3.

       This IGM will work with non-standard com-ports, and SHOULD
       work great under a multi-tasking operating system. It uses
       the BBS node data files created by LORD.

       No one has ever given me actual feedback on the IGM's
       multi-node usage status. The IGM is not designed to be
       multi-player, and the only IGM interactions are between
       the player and the various Forest monsters and NPCs.

    LORD data file accessed by IGM, in LORD directory:
    --------------------------------------------------------------------
    3RDPARTY.DAT: Tells LORD what IGMs are installed in the game.
                  Is modified when the IGM is installed or un-installed.

    LOGNOW.TXT: LORD's Daily Happenings file. Updated during normal
                IGM usage by various events, or during LCSETUP.EXE usage.

    ERROR.LOG: Error log, primarily used by LORD. Records info on
               errors that occur while you are using this IGM.

    Note: If you encounter problems using the IGM, send me
    details on what happened, along with copy of the OH_Error.log
    file that was generated. (Send data in a ZIP file, please.)
    ============================================================

    Usage of FOSETUP.EXE is required in order to add additional
    RHP Scripts, written for The Forest Outhouse v2.01+ versions.
    It is also required for removing/viewing currently installed
    RHP scripts that the IGM uses.
    ================================================================

    Advisory for users of multiple LORD game setups:
    ==================================================
    Be sure when using more than one copy of this IGM, that the
    configuration file (FOREST2.DAT) refers to the CORRECT location
    of each LORD game you are installing the IGM into.

    I've used two LORD games myself at times, and have to watch
    this situation. One WAS in c:\internet\games and the other is
    in c:\internet\Lord. The Lord Path line in FOREST2.DAT dictates
    where the IGM will look when it is executed for the LORD data
    files, such as player.dat. So when using more than one copy of
    this IGM, always keep an eye on the config file it uses.

    To correct any errors, either manually edit the FOREST2.DAT file
    and change the LORD Directory path info, or re-run FOSETUP.EXE
    and correct the LORD Path entry in the Configuration Menu.
    ================================================================

										[EXTRA SETUP INFO]
    Use FOSETUP's option 'E' to edit the extra information, which
    allows you to install new RHP scripts, and to set how many Forest
    Searches are allowed each day.

    The GEMSPILE.rhp is automatically installed when you install
    version 2.10 of Forest Outhouse. If it does not exist, IGM will
    run an "you find nothing of interest" event, when the IGM randomly
    selects the RHP execution portion of OUTHOUSE.EXE.

    To use other Outhouse RHP Scripts, such as POLISH.RHP, you have
    to choose to install them. Use Extra Configuation Menu in
    FOSETUP, and use "Install RHP Script" option. Each script has
    a (letter) code. Use that to install scripts.

    Alterations of these RHP scripts for PERSONAL use are authorized.

    No distribution of altered RHP files, using my name as author, is
    authorized without my explicit written authorization - through
    Email, Fidonet Net-Mail, or U.S. postal mail - or any other
    distribution methods.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

  During IGM exit process, if OH2USAGE.TXT does not already exist, it will
  be created automatically by the IGM. Otherwise, with each new IGM usage,
  it is updated with the current player's data. (As of 01/21/2005.)

  RHP Scripts Note: As of 01/21/2005, the IGM will track positive/negative
  changes to most of the numeric LORD Stats that an RHP Script event may
  change. Only positive changes are covered in RHP Scripts for the Skill
  Use Point and Skill Points LORD stats.
------------------------------------------------------------------

3RDPARTY.DAT File and IGM OUT Data files notes:  {09/21/2004}
-------------------------------------------------------------
Internally, the IGM uses color schemes that I like. Do not
manually change color code symbols used by the IGM in its OUT
data files.

Under NO circumstance, should anyone EVER manually alter the
content of the IGM's data files while the IGM is in actual usage.
That specifically applies to FOREST2.DAT and OH-EXTRA.CFG.
Changes to either files should always be made using OH2SETUP.

The OUT files generated by the IGM will be deleted automatically
by it once it turns the player's record over to LORD during IGM
exit process.

Regarding 3RDPARTY.DAT, the end-user is free to use whatever color
codes they prefer for listing the IGM's name. The default setting
for the IGM's installation entry lines will look like this:

C:\INTERNET\LORD\OUTHOUSE\OUTHOUSE.EXE *   {First line}
`0The Forest Outhouse `!v2.61 Beta       {Second line}

The user is asked during the 3RDPARTY.DAT update process if they
wish to include version info in the IGM entry or not.
===============================================================

Special Install Notes:

Config Menu now shows the location FOSETUP.EXE is being run from.
It also has an entry for IGM Path. If the value shown is incorrect,
change it to the correct directory path for the IGM's files.

Select value from 1 to 125 for Kids per Visit adoption limit.
Versions 2.20+ allow the sysop to determine how many adoptions
per Day are allowed. Values above 125 are not allowed.

Check 3RDPARTY.DAT for duplicate entries and remove any that are
found. If using LordMenu, run the program, and update its data files,
once you have exited the FOSETUP.EXE program.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

	 {New Installation}
Run FOSETUP.EXE, and follow the instructions listed above.

Order of Menu entries usage to use:

  1) Do Configuration first.
  2) Do Extra Configuration second.
  3) Do Install IGM into LORD third.
  4) Save Changes and Exit program.
  5) Visually verify settings in the FOREST2.DAT file, and in
     the 3RDPARTY.DAT file.
  6) If using Lordmenu utility, update its data files.

  That concludes the Installation process.
======================================================================

	 Misc. Notes about Horses:

Gain of Horse inside IGM, during IGM exit process, results in
player receiving 25% increase in Forest Fights.
Loss of Horse results in 25% decrease in FF's. (v2.20+)

Change in Horse status in an RHP script event is NOT covered
by RHP Script Language. IF RHP writer wishes player to have
change in Forest Fights, you have to code the script to
do the computation of what 25% of Forest Fights is, and then
either add or subtract that value from the stat.
=================================================================

About BankGold.rhp:
====================
The script is NOT designed for usage with The Forest Outhouse IGM
in normal game play. It is entirely designed to illustrate the
usage of *ALL* RHP Language codes in a limited extent, for benefit
of RHP Script writers. A copy is bundled with RHPTST13.ZIP, the
official release distribution archive for RHP Toolkit v1.3.

                                SPECIAL THANKS
                                --------------
    To Seth Able, the author of the Legend Of the Red Dragon.(LORD)
    for writing such a great game.

    The authors of DDPLUS, for releasing their source code as freeware.

    To Jason Brown for allowing me to be co-author and technical
    supporter of his LORD IGMs and Utilities. And for allowing me
    to use L.O.R.D. Cavern events in Forest Outhouse.

    To Robert Fogt for spending a few weeks searching through old
    computer disks until he found the source code for Outhouse IGM,
    so that a new home could be found for it.

    To Charlie Wardick for teaching me Pascal programming again,
    after not having used it for over 15 years.

    And to my friend Lloyd Hannesson who initially was going to
    develop and support The Outhouse, for letting me take over
    that responsibility myself.

    Special thanks to Dennis Collins for his hard work over
    two years on fixing problems that had developed over time
    in the RHP Script Language used by The Forest Outhouse, The
    Gateway, The LORD Cavern, The Outlands Tavern, and RHPTest.
