FOREST OUTHOUSE - OLD REVISION NOTES:
=====================================

Text relocated out of OUTHOUSE.TXT on June 11, 2005 for purpose
of cleaning up the primary documentation file.

                     { IGM USAGE WARNINGS:  01/21/2005 }

This MAY be obvious to most users of the IGM, who are usually BBS sysops.

But under NO circumstance should you ever run the IGM with the following
IGM data files write-protected. Doing so will probably cause the IGM to
crash. So do NOT EVER fool around during IGM operation with these files:

  Oh2Time.Dat, OUTHOUSE.CFG, OH-Extra.cfg, and Outhouse.dat.

You should NEVER attempt to edit an RHP Script file while the IGM is running
running in LORD, since that could crash the IGM to crash. Or at the least,
it might cause the RHP script to stop working correctly afterwards.

Exception: Limited editing may be done of the OUTHOUSE.CFG and OH-Extra.cfg
files manually, but should never be done while the IGM is in use in LORD.
Primarily, if you need to alter those two files, please do so using LCSETUP.EXE.

Regarding RHP Scripts, if one does not work properly for you, contact
the script file's author for technical support. As of late May 2005,
I have never been notified of anyone having written RHP scripts
for Forest Outhouse IGM usage. If you need help using one of
the Outhouse's scripts, you should contact me via email.

                      Data Files Corruption: 01/21/2005
                      ==================================
Occasionally, especially if you are using a LORD IGM that is in beta development,
some situation might arise when you can tell that the IGM has corrupted its
data files. What to do?

While the IGM is NOT in use, you can delete one or both of the files -- Oh2Time.dat
and Outhouse.dat -- and they will be recreated automatically the next time the IGM
is run in LORD. If that does not clear up problems you have with the IGM, then
contact me for technical support. In general, if there is a problem with the
two CFG files, that can be fixed easily using OH2SETUP.EXE. Donald.
============================================================================

Windows NT/2000/XP Note: Under the Windows NT O/S engine, anyone who
uses extended file names will find that PKZIP/PKUNZIP no longer work
with them. The same applies to the DOS RAR, ARJ, and LZH programs.

You can use WZZIP/WZUNZIP, provided inside WinZIP v9.0, to continue
using ZIP files easily under the Win-NT engine.

                          LORD Development History:
    ---------------------------------------------------------
I started doing LORD IGM/utility programming in June 2002 when
I began maintaining Jason Brown's five LORD programs: The Gateway,
The L.O.R.D. Cavern, LordStat, The Outlands Tavern, and the RHP
Toolkit - RHPTest and LordType. LORD project #6 was completion
of ChasWare LORD Player Editor, created by Charlie Wardick, which
I started work on with him on Sept. 10, 2002. Project #7 and IGM
#4 is this program, which I adopted from Robert Fogt. Work on The
Forest Outhouse began on Nov. 11, 2002. Project #8 and IGM #5
was The Gem Trader. I created it on Nov. 22, 2002 as my first
solo IGM. Project #9 and IGM #6 was The Pawn Shop, which I started
maintaining for Chris MacPherson on Nov. 25, 2002.

2003 Work: LORD Project #10 and IGM #7 was the LORD Gambling
Casino, which I adopted from Tobin Fricke. I started work on it
on Mar. 25, 2003. It was turned over to Chris Martino in June
2004. Project #11 and IGM #8 was The Nice Hag, my second solo
IGM, which was created on Apr. 07, 2003. Project #12 and IGM
#9 was The Ruined Castle, my third solo IGM, which was created
on Jun. 11, 2003. It is based on the LADY script created by
Dan Stovall. Project #13 and IGM #10 was Turgeon's House, which
I adopted from Mike Ciesiensky, on Sept. 15, 2003. Project
#14 and IGM #11, my fourth solo IGM, was Love Shack II, which
was created on Nov. 14, 2003. It is dedicated to Trevor Herndon
who created the original Love Shack IGM.

2004 Work: LORD Project #15 and IGM #12 was Violet's Cottage
II, my fifth solo IGM, which was created on Jan. 26, 2004. It
is dedicated to Trevor Herndon who created the Violet's Cottage
IGM. Project #16 and IGM #13 was Hiding In The Shadows, which
I adopted from Kenneth Padgett on Jan. 30, 2004. Project #17
and IGM #14 was Realm of Lore, adopted from Paul Mullins in
March 2004. I turned it over to Chris Martino in early April
2005. Project #18 and IGM #15 was Kiteria's LORD Bank, my
sixth solo IGM, which was created on Oct. 01, 2004.

2005 Work: LORD Project #19 and IGM #16 is Doofus the Gnome,
which is my seventh solo IGM, created on Mar. 23, 2005. My
20th LORD project and 17th IGM is The Werewolf II, which I
started work on, on Apr. 13, 2005. Doofus is based on LADY
script created by Gordon Lewicky. Werewolf II is a recreation
of Jay Hodge's old Werewolf IGM.

Notations regarding upcoming Lord/32 version of this IGM:
==========================================================

Chris Martino is handling creation of 32-bit IGM versions of my IGMs
and will handle their support until he's taught me how to do so myself.

         32-bit versions, currently in development:
-- Kiteria's Lord Bank, Love Shack II, The Nice Hag, Ruined Castle,
Turgeon's House, Violet's Cottage II. He is also handling 32-bit
versions of the Hiding In the Shadows IGM, and the ChasWare LORD
Player Editor utility for me.

32-bit versions, will be developed soon:
All of Jason Brown's IGMs, the RHP Toolkit utilities, and my
Forest Outhouse IGM.

32-bit versions - will be developed sometime this summer:
The Pawn Shop, The Gem Trader. Doofus the Gnome. Werewolf II.

I have no idea when initial development work will end on the
Doofus the Gnome IGM. When it has, a 32-bit version will be made,
either by myself or by Chris.

Notes regarding The Outhouse/32 Lord/32 IGM by Chris Martino.
------------------------------------------------------------
Robert Fogt released the source code for his Outhouse IGM for
anyone to study. He officially transferred authorship to me
in late November 2002. I converted the old igm's code into
a skeleton framework built from Jason Brown's LORD Cavern IGM.
That is the program you are now using.

Chris has made a 32-bit version, for LORD/32 usage, of Robert's
original igm. I formally granted him authorship of the program
for that purpose once he told me about Outhouse/32's existence.
If you use Outhouse/32, contact Chris for all technical support.

Sometime in summer 2005, with Chris's help, I will work on 32-bit
version of The Forest Outhouse, for usage under LORD/32 Beta.
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Contact Info: Chris Martino.
        Web-site: http://www.oddware.org/
        Email: sfyl138@comcast.net

Regardless of when their development is finished, none of the 32-bit
IGMs will be released officially until Michael Preslar and Metropolis
Gameport have officially released Lord/32. He does not want the
32-bit IGMs released until that time, and Chris Martino and I
will do as he requested.
-------------------------------------------------------------

Linux Support: I do not know Linux. I have no idea if anyone
will ever make Lord/x specific versions of my IGMs and utilities.
As of early June 2005, Lord/X beta does not support IGMs.

No support is offered for usage of my LORD programs on a Linux
system since I have no knowledge of that operating system. If
you are running DOS LORD on a Linux system, and this IGM works
OK in that environment, then I can provide limited support in
that specific situation.
=============================================================

32-bit version of RHPTest:
Jason Brown is already working on a 32-bit version of RHPTest,
which is made in C++ programming language. Its beta is
available upon request from him or myself, but may not always
be fully up-to-date or fully functional.

RHPTest/32 C++ is not developed with LORD/32 beta in mind.
It is strictly for use with the DOS LORD game.

quotes) "Send me Lord", "Send me Lord/32", "Send me LORD2", or "Send
me TEOS". As of early June 2005, there is no Lord/x beta that Michael
has authorized people to do beta tests of, on their own systems.

If you wish to beta test Lord/X, you have to do so on Preslar's telnet
site, using the Internet address listed above. Web Lord is also in
